UV Adhesives

Adhesives have special properties that cure when exposed to UV light at a certain wavelength. This process takes place in seconds, which enables high cycle rates in production, simplified quality controls and lower process costs.

DREI BOND offers an extensive portfolio of UV-curing adhesives for applications in a wide variety of industries where, among other things, the aim is to achieve transparent results. The decisive factor for the use of these adhesives (with the exception of UV epoxies) is that one of the materials to be bonded is permeable to the wavelength of the UV light required in order to allow the adhesive to cure.

 

Acrylates

UV-curing acrylates achieve maximum strengths after curing. In the DREI BOND product portfolio you will find UV acrylates with different viscosities so that they can be selected specifically for the needs of the application.

 

Epoxies

If the adhesive is in shadow areas after application, in which the UV light does not reach for structural reasons, or if components that are impermeable to UV rays are used, the UV-curing epoxies can be used. Despite the somewhat delayed curing, very high strengths are achieved after curing, comparable to the acrylates.

 

Silicones

If a flexible sealant is required for the application that is to be cured quickly and in a targeted manner, the UV-curing silicones from DREI BOND can be used. After curing, these are characterized by their very high deformability and can ideally be used to seal all materials. No cleavage products are generated during curing, so there is no risk of material damage or blistering.

 

Dual-curing adhesives (UV / AE)

Dual-curing adhesives can be used for special applications in which rapid curing is to be achieved with a UV adhesive, but there are shadow areas. The dual-curing adhesives from DREI BOND are both UV and anaerobic curing. For this reason, the shadow areas must allow anaerobic curing (metal contact and oxygen exclusion) so that a complete curing of the adhesive is guaranteed.
